They painted! It’s very cool!

Starting the deck.

Drywall and priming is all done, inside. Everything was delayed a bit because of snow (no, really, we had over a foot), so the painters went to another job…I guess….in California. So now there’s nothing being done inside, and all progress is exterior. The siding, both the grey hardie-plank and cedar, is almost completed, so the builder is starting on the deck while we wait for the painters to come back. I don’t know. I am trying not to stress over it, but at the end of the day I find I have had my teeth clenched for hours.

Today:

I don’t recognize it with the sun on it.

It doesn’t photograph well inside at the moment, being full of painter’s junk (just finished drywall & prime), and most of the windows are covered with that plastic film you see on the window on the left. A couple windows are free now, to air the place out. They’ll get covered up again.
I’ll get a photo of the front – the pond side – tomorrow.
We have been selecting colors, and are exhausted with the effort. How do people do this? It’s maddening.
Let’s build a house.

That little photo? I can’t figure out how to delete it. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN EASY, USER-FRIENDLY BLOG THINGY.
So anyway, I have been posting photos on facebook for months, documenting the process of building our house (for the record, we are not ‘building’ the house, but rather ‘having it built’. We employ professionals). There are those of you who shall remain nameless (because I’m not sure who you are) who are not on facebook, and never see the photos. Oh, you don’t complain (mostly because you aren’t really that interested), but I am solving that right here and now with this blog.
We started with this:

Then we did this:

And then this:

You get the picture.
Now we have this:

And this:

I will try to publish this, keep your fingers crossed. More to follow.
